Bitcoin dropped over 3.6% to trade around $81,500 on Thursday after US data revealed a sharper-than-expected rise in September wholesale prices.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the Producer Price Index increased 1.3% month-on-month, bringing annual wholesale inflation to 6.3%.
Energy prices spearheaded the monthly surge, jumping 10.8% and accounting for over 80% of the overall increase in final-demand goods.
