Delhi Police detained at least 1,000 people across the city ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party's protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The detentions occurred late Friday and Saturday morning near border areas, transport hubs, and districts such as southeast Delhi to maintain law and order.
Authorities deployed more than 30,000 personnel, established heavy border pickets, and earmarked 13 major detention centers to manage the demonstration.
