A Chhattisgarh State Human Rights Commission survey conducted by law interns has flagged severe deficiencies among 8,000 sanitation workers in Raipur.
The report found that 336 workers lacked home toilets, 1,907 lacked identification documents, and contractors confiscated ATM cards and passbooks in 1,076 cases to pay reduced wages.
The survey findings have been forwarded to district authorities in Raipur and Bilaspur for official action.
