The Ministry of Home Affairs directed states and union territories to deploy facial recognition, cyber surveillance, and real-time alerts to target human trafficking networks.
Authorities were instructed to apply section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on organised crime against trafficking networks instead of low-level operators.
States must use the National Automated Facial Recognition System to cross-reference rescued individuals and unidentified minors with the Mission Vatsalya portal.
