The Indian Ministry of External Affairs condemned the defacement of its embassy in Ljubljana, Slovenia, by anti-India elements on Monday, demanding that local authorities hold the perpetrators accountable for the incident.
Sources familiar with the matter identified the perpetrators as pro-Khalistan elements who targeted the diplomatic mission with anti-India slogans, prompting India to raise the issue strongly in both New Delhi and Ljubljana.
Citing the Vienna Convention, the ministry emphasized that diplomatic premises are inviolable and must be protected, noting that similar groups have previously vandalized Indian missions in the UK, the US, and Canada.
