Former Bharatiya Janata Party MP Dharmendra Kashyap and his daughter Kirti Kashyap joined the Samajwadi Party in Lucknow on Tuesday.
SP president Akhilesh Yadav welcomed them into the party fold as part of the PDA Movement, highlighting their influence in Bareilly and Rohilkhand.
Following his induction, Mr. Kashyap alleged that the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh has collapsed and backward communities are denied justice.
