Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch development projects exceeding ₹13,000 crore in Chennai on Sunday, inaugurating the Porur–Poonamallee Metro stretch and a brain research centre at IIT Madras.
Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay will ride the Chennai Metro Rail from Porur Bypass Station to Poonamallee Bypass Station; the Phase II project is built at an outlay of ₹4,900 crore.
Modi will dedicate the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre at IIT Madras, launch a global scientific mission to map human brains into 3D atlases, and inaugurate five Amrit Stations.
