Cornell High School head football coach Ed Dawson passed away after suffering a medical emergency during a game at Rochester High School in Beaver County.
Dawson told an assistant coach he felt unwell during the second quarter and collapsed on the bench, after which medical personnel administered CPR before hospital transport.
Superintendent Aaron Thomas stated the Cornell community was crushed by the loss of Dawson, who led the team to historic conference titles during his 12-season tenure.
