The Supreme Court criticized the Centre for pursuing appeals against disability pension grants to ex-servicemen, dismissing a batch of over 270 appeals.
A bench of justices PS Narasimha and Alok Aradhe noted that a 2015 defence minister report recommended immediate withdrawal of such litigation against disabled soldiers.
The court directed the central government to comply with judgments granting disability pensions to ex-soldiers within a four-month period.
