Raw sugar futures on ICE fell on Friday due to a weakening Brazilian real and market consolidation, but still posted a 9.8% gain for October. Raw sugar settled down 0.6% at 19.36 cents per pound.
Brazil's center-south sugar production dropped 27.1% in early October to 1.87 million metric tons compared to last year, driven by heavy rains linked to the El Nino weather pattern.
Meanwhile, robusta coffee declined 6% over October to $3,204 a ton amid rising exchange stocks and the ongoing harvest in top grower Vietnam.
