West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced plans to fill 14,454 government vacancies across multiple departments within six to eight months.
The Cabinet approved the Bhagini Nivedita Scheme to provide ₹50,000 financial assistance over three years to unmarried women pursuing higher education from January.
The government also raised monthly remunerations for Karmabandhu support staff to ₹8,000 and increased food allowances for SC and ST hostel students to ₹3,300.
