Asian Para Games gold medallist Neeraj Yadav died by suicide after consuming poison at his Delhi residence on Wednesday at the age of 42.
Indian para-athletics head coach S. Satyanarayana confirmed the tragedy, noting that Yadav was under emotional stress after missing the Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya due to a doping suspension.
Yadav competed in the F55 category and won three gold medals at the Asian Para Games, taking the javelin title in Jakarta in 2018 and gold in both javelin and discus in Hangzhou in 2023.
