
A study of 97,364 scans from 29,921 women found that an AI model can detect coronary heart disease and high blood pressure during routine mammograms with up to 86% accuracy.
Presented at the European Society of Cardiology congress, the model identified high blood pressure with 79% accuracy and coronary heart disease with 78% accuracy, regardless of age or cancer status.
Researchers suggest this technique could provide a scalable solution for early cardiovascular disease detection in women without requiring additional imaging tests.
