Ayush Shetty Stuns World Number 1 Shi Yuqi at World Championships

Indian badminton player Ayush Shetty defeated defending champion and World No. 1 Shi Yuqi of China in his BWF World Championships debut in Bengaluru on Monday.

The 21-year-old from Karkala, Karnataka, secured a 21-14, 13-21, 21-19 victory over the top seed at the IGI Stadium, marking his first win against Shi in four meetings.

The 6-foot-4 Indian shuttler avenged his previous straight-game defeat of 8-21, 10-21 against Shi Yuqi at the Asia Badminton Championships final held earlier this year.
