Indian Green Card Holder Arrested In Texas For Unlawful Voting

Federal prosecutors in Texas charged six lawful permanent residents and one Mexican national with unlawfully participating in federal elections.

Among the defendants is 69-year-old Indian national and permanent resident Khalwinder Singh Bhengura, who was arrested on September 11.

Bhengura is accused of making fraudulent citizenship claims during voter registration and casting a ballot in the November 2024 general election.
