Former Teacher Sentenced in Stoke-on-Trent School Misconduct Case

Shabbir Kapasi, a 38-year-old former mathematics teacher, was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for 18 months, for sexual communication with a child.

Kapasi previously taught at The Discovery Academy and Sir Thomas Boughey Academy in Stoke-on-Trent before his conviction at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

The sentence includes a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and 100 hours of unpaid work following his guilty plea to the charges.
