The Bombay High Court at Goa quashed a 2013 Enforcement Directorate FIR regarding the Goa illegal mining case following a petition by mining companies.
The court ruled that PMLA authorities cannot prosecute individuals for money laundering when the underlying predicate offence FIR has been quashed.
The bench observed there was a lack of investigation progress by the Special Investigation Team for more than a decade.
