Uproar Erupts After Dalit Woman Delivers on Roadside in Bhadohi

A 20-year-old pregnant Dalit woman named Rani Vanvasi gave birth on the roadside outside the government district hospital in Bhadohi on September 29 after allegedly being denied admission.

Opposition parties and the victim's family alleged that hospital staff denied timely treatment due to caste discrimination, sparking a political uproar in Uttar Pradesh.

The Chief Medical Officer stated that disciplinary action was taken against personnel found guilty of partial negligence, while confirming the mother and infant are healthy.
