At least 17 National Conference legislators held a four-hour meeting in Srinagar and issued a 15-day ultimatum to party leaders Farooq and Omar Abdullah over unilateral decisions and coterie culture.
The rebellion follows Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's expansion of the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet from six to nine ministers, which led several legislators to demand inclusion and boycott a dinner.
Legislators ruled out any party split for now, while NC MP Aga Syed Ruhullah decided to quit the party and resign from Parliament on November 3.
