Bangladesh and U.S. sign strategic civil nuclear cooperation MoU

Bangladesh and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic civil nuclear cooperation in New York on Friday, September 25, 2026.

The agreement was signed by Rehan Asad, Adviser for Science and Technology to the Bangladesh Prime Minister, and U.S. Under Secretary Jacob Helberg.

The pact aims to diversify Bangladesh's long-term energy sources and expand the Rooppur nuclear power plant project under IAEA safeguards and non-proliferation standards.
