Centre Introduces Public Examinations Amendment Bill 2026 to Curb Paper Leaks

The Union Government introduced the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha on July 27, 2026, to combat organised paper leaks.

The proposed law mandates up to 10 years of imprisonment and fines reaching ₹50 lakh for individuals or ₹10 crore for organised offenders involved in examination malpractice.

The Bill mandates the formation of Special Fast Track Courts to deliver verdicts within three months of charge sheet filing, with appeals to be disposed of within 90 days.
