Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed a desire for the restoration of Statehood status for the Union Territory on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on Thursday.
Abdullah noted that repeated assurances regarding Statehood were given verbally by authorities, including in Parliament and the Supreme Court, but nothing was put in writing.
He also supported the Centre's UPI payment policy, stating that charges will apply to businesses rather than individual customers or merchant transactions below ₹2,000.
